Xiang Yu Ping, an expert divorce and inheritance lawyer, is seen by others as cold, selfish, and ruthless. After Yu-ping’s older brother dies in a car accident he has little choice in taking in his brother's two orphaned children, Fei and Ting. Every nanny he hires to care for them is either scared off by the mischievous children or ends up falling in love with him. Fed up, Yu Ping asks his secretary, Yang Duo, to find a nanny that meets his requirements. Having lost all their wealth when their mother passed away and being abandoned by their father after racking up heavy debts; Yang Duo can not ignore the fact that she needs the money and recommends her younger sister, Yang Guo, for the job; assuring Yu Ping that her tomboyish sister will not fall in love with him by lying that she does not like men at all.
Okie dokie. So this is literally my favourite drama of all time as of now. It's cute, it's funny, it's sad, it just has it all. Of course, this review is only for the seven episodes that were aired already. I'm very anxious to see the next episode, which airs on Sunday and will probably be done being subbed around Tuesday.
First of all, I would like to point out how extremely cute Jerry Yan portrays Yu Ping in this drama. It makes me want to die when I see him smiling and doing such nice things for Yang Guo. A little advice if you want a boyfriend, you might not want to watch this drama, because your standards will rise so high that it will become impossible to look at a guy the same way. Although Yu Ping was described as "arrogant" and "cold-hearted", it does not really show at all throughout this drama.
I have to admit, I usually dislike Ella, but for some odd reason she fits this role very well. Yang Guo is a naive yet caring and determined tomboy. I guess you can point out that Yang Guo isn't the prettiest out of the bunch either. Ella is usually known for playing those tomboy roles, such as in Hana Kimi. Yang Guo is humorous throughout the drama and shows that just cause she's ordinary, doesn't mean she can't get the guys. ;)
The thing I disliked about the drama was Chen Zi Han who played Hui Fan. Her voice was dubbed and it just irritated me because she sounded so annoying. It just didn't feel natural when watching it. Other than that, each actor portrayed their roles very well. You'll fall in love with the characters.
The drama moves very quickly; no lagging, no repetition. I guess you could say the fact that a lot of things stand in the way of Yang Guo and Yu Ping can piss you off sometimes. Aside from that, each episode satisfies you and makes you anxious for the next.
The plot is sort of predictable, I'll have to admit, but I'd have to say most dramas are predictable. The theme of this drama isn't very unique and very easy to point out, but it really does send you a message. It shows how love isn't fully about looks or money, it shows how love shouldn't be about looks or money. A high class and handsome guy like Yu Ping doesn't need a wife/girlfriend based on class or beauty.
I don't want to ruin much, so I shall say no more.
OSTs OSTs OSTs. One word. Amazingggggg. The first time I heard the opening song, I fell in love right away. I swear you should check it out. The osts for this drama are catchy and you'll repeat them over and over again on your Ipod/Mp3. Here are the links to the opening and closing song of the drama:
