vancouver olympics 2010

Hey guys. You're probably wondering why I haven't been blogging lately. Well..it's because I've been watching the olympics!! WOOT! GO CANADA! Anyways, currently, Canada has 13 gold medals. I am soooo impressed by Canada's improvement in the olympics. For the last couple of days they've been gaining medals like gaining candy on Halloween. We are currently 3rd in medal standings.

I would like to give a big shout out to Alex Bilodeau for being the first ever Canadian gold medalist on home soil. He's probably my idol now. Ever since I saw the story of him and his brother, I was inspired and I thought he was such a thoughtful guy. Brotherly love.
I would also like to give a shout out to Scott Moir and Tessa Virtue for being the first Canadian ice dancers to win gold. They performed beautifully in the finals and I just think they'd make the cutest couple.
Actually, I would like to congratulate ALL the Canadian athletes that have won medals. I would like to thank ALL the Canadian athletes that tried their best to represent their country. And I would like to encourage ALL the Canadian athletes that didn't qualify to be in the olympics to practice and try again next winter olympics.

Right now I am watching the big hockey game. Canada vs USA. Of course, I'm Canadian, so I want Canada to win very badly. But I wish America good luck. It's currently 1-2, Canada in the lead. WOOT! Go Canada!

Gosh. I can't believe it's the last day of the olympics. I'm going to miss watching it everyday. I believe the olympics, especially the winter olympics for Canadians, bring people together. I was at Tim Hortons the other day and I saw to strangers talking about the hockey game. It really does bring people together.

Now, let's get off the topic of the olympics. I would like to inform my readers that I will be on hiatus for awhile due to a busy schedule. Lots will be happening this week. I'll probably blog again on March break. Hope everyone understands. ^^

life's a big bucket of sunshine -__-''

sooo...great. Probably the worst thing happened to me today. I got chosen to be part of my school's Haiti documentary. Yeah, I know, it's a privilege, but I have videoaphobia and i just don't want to be in it. It's going to be played in front of the school on Friday. That's the day when my pride is over.

Well, this is how it all started. Every student in the school had to do a reflection on how they felt about Haiti. Whoever did the best answer for a question, those people would be chosen to be part of the documentary. Guess who got chosen? Me.

It never struck me that I would be chosen for this thing. I mean, the answer wasn't even that good. Today my homeroom teacher sent me to another teacher without me knowing what I was going to do. I guess she wanted it to be a surprise. Yeah, very nice surprise there. T__T Anyways, I got there and the teacher told me to follow the two students, one was holding and camera and one was holding a mic. In my mind I was like, "oh shit, I'm screwed." -sigh- I did one take. ONE TAKE. I watched it and I felt like crying. It was so horrible. I hate my voice and I hated how I looked. They just had to pick a day where I didn't feel like dressing up. This feels like an "fml" moment but I just hate saying that. Don't you?

Here I am. Whining and ranting about this little thing that I turn into a big thing. I don't even feel like doing my homework. I think I should do it now though. I sound like a nerd.

By the way, an update on the whole pillows thing. It's doing pretty good. Everything is going as planned and the business proposal was approved thanks to my awesome writing skillz. ^__^\/

Life is rather like a tin of sardines - we're all of us looking for the key.

a busy week for me

Man, I've got a lot of blogging to do, but I actually don't have time this week and possibly next week. As you know from my previous blog, I have a business project to do. The business proposal is due this Wednesday and the actually market is on the 24th. This sucks 'cause me and my business partners only have a little more than 2 weeks to make 30 pillows. Our original goal was 50, but we decreased it because of money and time. It already took us 3 days just to make around 4 pillows. We have A LOT of work to do, so I appreciate it if you could be patient with my blogs. Wait, I have no followers..what a fail. But anyways, just to be nice to the people that might be reading this and just don't want to follow me, I'm going to take some time off blogging this whole week. I'll make 3 separate blogs on Friday, dedicated to the birthday boys, another blog for song of the week, and maybe an extra one to update you on what's been happening.

For some reason, I've been paranoid this whole week. Just thinking about waking up early tomorrow to go to band rehearsal is stressing me out. Sorry, but the littlest things stress me out. I won't survive in life. Seriously I won't. I have to make a checklist of things I need to finish just to calm me down. When I check off the thing I'm finished doing, it makes me feel a lot better. This week, the homework I have so far is the business proposal and movie poster. Movie poster is such a pain in the butt, but I like the book I'm doing. Problem is that the character is a little hard to explain. He's so many different things. Well, it's the book "The Catcher in the Rye". Many of you probably heard of it before; it's a classic. I've read it already, but I'm reading it again to just get the jest of everything. I find the book amusing in a way, but sort of depressing. Speaking of "The Catcher in the Rye", did you guys know that the author of the book recently died? That's pretty crazy stuff. Apparently, he wrote lots of books and they're going to be released soon, right after his death. A lot of producers are trying to get the author to give them the right to make the book into a movie, but he doesn't want it to be a movie. I give him a big high five for that, man. I mean, they're going to ruin the whole book. And I swear, if they were to make Holden Caulfield someone as gay as Robert Pattison, I'm going throw rotten eggs and gross stuff at them. It's a good thing he told his lawyer to never give anyone book rights unless his wife and daughter really need money, or something along those lines. It would be nice to see who would play Holden and how the movie would turn out, but I think it would turn into a disaster if they facked up the cast choice. I'd do a review of this book, but it's too hard to explain. >_< Maybe I'll post for you a copy of my movie poster. The written part, not the drawn part.

Back to my paranoia, (sorry, I really went off topic there) I've been having dreams of unfinished homework and stuff. Getting horrible punishments, and forgetting to do this and that. I know, it's the stupidest thing ever. The business is really stressing me out because I feel like we're not going to finish it in time. Then there's piano, I haven't been practicing because of the stupid business project. I'll have to practice after dinner. Gotta go eat now. Talk to you soon. ^__^

"When you feel like giving up, remember why you held on for so long in the first place."

when you're at a party and you're alone/bored

I experience this a lot. That's why I'll give you a few tips of how I co-op with these kinds of situations.

Before the party, you might want to eat something, because you never know if the foods gonna be horrible. You might even want to sneak a few snacks in your bag, just for emergencies.

A few things I would bring to entertain myself:
> MP3/MP4/iPod, PSP, DSi, ect. (something portable)
> Paper & Pencil, Optional scissors (for drawing, origami, ect)
> A really good book (helps pass the time)
> Some unfinished homework (optional)

If the people have internet, you could ask them if you can use the computer. Your life is basically saved when you have the computer. You've got YouTube, Facebook, Blogspot. You could watched tv shows, dramas, movies. There's so many things you could do. Yesterday, I got the computer; it saved my life. I watched episode 10 of Chuno and it was intense.

If you're too shy to ask then you could try to get your PSP or DSi or iTouch/iPhone to get WiFi. I pretty sure most houses have WiFi now. The only problem is, most houses have passwords. For PSPs and iPods, be sure to have maybe a few tv show eps or a movie on hand or downloaded onto the system. Always helps in situations. I have tons of videos on my iTouch.
Another option is doodling or origami. If you have an iTouch/iPhone, download some origami apps before you go to the party. Origami is really fun, but frustrating at times. You'll get the hang of it and soon you'll become addicted, like I am. I did like 7 origami pieces yesterday. A knife, a balloon, a beating heart, a rabbit, a frog, a daisy and a lily.
The last option is the T.V. I'm sure every house as a T.V.

It's really not hard to entertain yourself. Just try your best not to sit around and listen to the adults talk. Maybe you can sit down with them and eat, then when you're down you could just excuse yourself. If there's a person your age, it's always good to make new friends. If the family has a pet dog or cat, it's nice to pet it and play with it for awhile. Many, many options. You just have to find them. If you're old enough to freakin' drive, why are you even there? Get out of the place.

Drama Review: You're Beautiful

The management company of the idol group A.N.JELL insisted on adding a new singer to the group as the lead vocal, Tae Kyung's voice was hurting. However, the new member, Mi Nam, had to go to the States to repair a botched eye job just before signing the contract. His agent came up with the idea of having his twin sister, Mi Nyu,to stand in for him and pretend that she was her brother. The two of them grew up in an orphanage and Mi Nyu, who was all set to become a nun, agreed to this charade as she didn't want to spoil her brother's chance of fame which would make it easier to look for their mother.

This drama is my favourite drama of all time. I highly recommend you watch it. The music is excellent, the acting is amazing, the plot is extra-ordinary and come on, who doesn't want to see 3 hot guys fighting for 1 pretty girl. The Hong Sisters have REALLY out done themselves. They've wrote "My Girl", "Fantasy Couple", "Hong Gil Dong", now "You're Beautiful". I applaud them.

Tae Kyung (played by Jang Geun Suk), Shin Woo (played by Jung Yong Hwa) and Jeremy (played by Lee Hong Ki) all have different personalities. Tae Kyung being grumpy and arrogant, Shin Woo being nice and calm, and Jeremy being hyper and funny. Mi Nyu (played by Park Shin Hye) is a naive girl who is clueless in love. Yoo He Yi (played by UEE) is a "fake fairy" who gets everything she wants no matter what. All these actors and actresses do a perfect job playing their role. UEE played her role as a bitch so well that I wanted to kill her. Seriously.

Everyone made a lot of connections to "Boys Over Flowers" with this drama. I admit, there are many similarities with both dramas, like Shin Woo resembles Ji Hoo a lot. But I have to say, I like "You're Beautiful" way more than "Boys Over Flowers". You can see that I was and still sort of am a "Boys Over Flowers" fanatic. I have the necklace, mangas, and I've watched all the different versons of the drama (Taiwanese, Japanese, Mainland, Korean). You can say I'm a "You're Beautiful" fanatic now. I really don't even care that it's some-what overrated now, because it's just that good.

The music is amazing. I probably have most of the osts in my iPod. If you like FT Island or CN Blue then you'll definitely love A.N.Jell. Their music is similar to them and it's just as catchy. I've probably listened to the osts more then 100 times. Jang Geun Suk's voice is just so deep and toned. It has a very relaxing vibe to it.

There are so many scenes that I love and still remember from this drama. I even have some scenes in my Ipod and watch them with a smile. There's just so many things I can say about this drama, but instead of me telling you how good it is, you should check it out for yourself.

Here's the trailer for the drama:

saturday + pillows + origami + birthday = ...

So it's Saturday. I've realized I have only made two rants about myself and my life. I really should make more.

Saturday isn't really anything special. I have lots of homework to do, but I really don't want to. Geography homework, English homework and a business proposal for a group project. Actually, I find the business project sort of fun. The business proposal part of it isn't fun, but designing your own product and selling it is going to be fun. My group is making pillows. Hey, I know...pillows are blah...but we're gonna make our cool ;D No, really..we are. It's going to be in fun shapes, and we'll design them too. We're planning on making character pillows (includes hello kitty and more), fun pillows (basically random stuff like a calculator pillow), environmental pillows (will be made out of reused materials), matching pillows (bffs, lovers, ect), fundraiser pillows (Haiti pillows, all money goes to Haiti), and more. Well, we'll try to make all that we can, but we only have a $60 limit. We're aiming for 50 pillows though. I'm sure we'll make lots more money at the market. Then we're thinking of having a program called "Build-A-Pillow". It's basically like "Build-A-Bear".

I'm so hungry right now. I just woke up and watched Food Network. That's the worst thing to do when you're hungry as hell. Right now, I'm craving chicken nuggets, spaghetti and a pretzel.

Recently, I've been obsessing over origami. I've made a pikachu, ninja star, dog, knife and almost done but I'm stuck snail. ^^

Yes, yes. My birthday is soon too. Yeee. I hope I get lots of monies. Hehehe. I think my friend is gonna get me an origami kit, 'cause she said she was gonna get me an origami kit. I know it's the thought that counts and stuff, but when it's your birthday you expect to get what you want you know? I know that sounds a bit greedy, but it's like 1 day out of the whole year...well technically, Christmas counts too, so 1 out of the 2 days out of the whole year that you can get what you want. Unless you ask for you. It's a time when people shower you with gifts. Of course, when it comes to the other person's birthday, you have to give something to them back. That is why I don't like a lot of people giving me presents. But anyways, to just let everything out, I'll list the things I want for my birthday.

> Money
> Dwaejee-Tooki plushie
> Origami kit
> Manga(s): Boys Over Flowers (Volume 1,5,8-37)/ Vampire Knight (Volume 1-4, 7-11)
> A K-pop album (2Pm, SuJu Super Show, FT Island, ect)
> Super Junior Super Show DVD
> Cute clothes/Gift cards
> Straightener (Flat Iron) Unless I already get one
> Accessories (Glasses, Cute hat(s), ect)

Yeah, that's basically it. I don't expect ALL of those things. Just some out of the the list. Those are probably the most things I desire for now.

Super Junior ~

Wow, it's surprising I haven't talked about Super Junior at all yet in my blogs. Well now's the time to do it.

You can probably see a picture under the title of my blog... that's Super Junior. There's a picture above this blog too. They're basically my FAVOURITE boy group of all time. Their songs are AMAZING! There's so much I can say about them, but I don't know where to start. For starters, I'll tell you a little bit about them.

Super Junior (Korean: 슈퍼주니어), often referred to as SJ or SuJu (슈주), is a boy band from Seoul, South Korea formed by SM Entertainment in 2005. With a total of thirteen members, Super Junior is the largest boy band in the world. The group consists of Leeteuk (leader), Heechul, Han Geng, Yesung, Kang-in, Shindong, Sungmin, Eunhyuk, Donghae, Siwon, Ryeowook, Kibum, and Kyuhyun. The Chinese member, Han Geng, was chosen from three thousand applicants, via auditions held in China by SM Entertainment in 2001.

Super Junior has released and contributed in 19 different kinds of records with varying degrees of success. Over the years, they have been divided into smaller sub groups, simultaneously targeting different music industries and audiences. Largely due to Super Junior's success as entertainers, other Korean entertainment managements began to train their music groups in other areas of entertainment, such as acting and hosting. In addition to their commercial success, Super Junior has earned seven music awards from the M.net Asian Music Awards, eleven from the Golden Disk Awards (including Album of the Year and Daesang), and is the second singing group to win Favorite Artist Korea at the MTV Asia Awards after JTL in 2008.

Last year, they released their 3rd album "Sorry Sorry", which I have B). You should check out the WHOLE album; it's really good. They probably have all the songs on YouTube. I'll link you the Top 10 songs of Super Junior that I like the most.

As it was said above, there are 13 members. Each of them have different personalities, but when they're on stage they're like 1. They dance in sync, sing in sync, and they compliment each other so well. I would like to say that Kangin is my favourite out of the bunch. There's a reason though. I watched a movie that Kangin was in and thought he was pretty good looking, ya know? I started to look him up on Google. (I do that to some celebrities sometimes.) I bet every girl does this though. Anyways, I saw that he was part of a group called "Super Junior". It got me really curious, so I checked them out. I figured out that I actually knew the song "Sorry, Sorry" before I watched the movie because it was already in my favourites on YouTube. Moral of the story.. Kangin brought me to Super Junior, to k-pop music and into a new light. If I didn't watch that movie that said "Starring Kangin from Super Junior" I would probably not have been what I am today. I guess you can call it destiny. ^___^\/

Back to Super Junior. Some people actually think they're gay or they look gay. Honestly, I thought so too when I saw one music video with them called "Happiness", but after I started to realize that they were really good people and their bromance is cute. I wouldn't say they're gay though even though they've kissed each other before, but that doesn't make them gay. They're funny, they're good looking and they have great personalities. I don't give a shit if they're gay or not. They make great music and that's all I care about. (:

Why is Super Junior my favourite boy band of all time? Half of it is because I absolutely adore their music and them, but the other half is because they made me understand and realize many things; don't judge a book by it's cover, different countries do different things and bromance is sexy.

Well anyways, I have so much more to say about them, but I think I'll just incorporate that into my other blogs. I might end up with a really, really long blog if I continue.

So here are the links to my Top 10 favourite Super Junior songs. Hope you enjoy! ^^

Movie Review: Avatar

When his brother is killed in a robbery, paraplegic Marine Jake Sully decides to take his place in a mission on the distant world of Pandora. There he learns of greedy corporate figurehead Parker Selfridge's intentions of driving off the native humanoid "Na'vi" in order to mine for the precious material scattered throughout their rich woodland. In exchange for the spinal surgery that will fix his legs, Jake gathers intel for the cooperating military unit spearheaded by gung-ho Colonel Quaritch, while simultaneously attempting to infiltrate the Na'vi people with the use of an "avatar" identity. While Jake begins to bond with the native tribe and quickly falls in love with the beautiful alien Neytiri, the restless Colonel moves forward with his ruthless extermination tactics, forcing the soldier to take a stand - and fight back in an epic battle for the fate of Pandora.

Ever since everyone was talking about how good Avatar was, I wanted to see it. I wondered if it was really that good.
Today I finally got to watch it and I've got to say...I was a little bit disappointed. I have to admit though, it was an excellent movie and it's worth the watch, but I guess it was so overly hyped that I thought that this movie would rule every movie ever created. It was basically like Pocahontas in the future and more "epic". Jake being John Smith and Neytiri being Pocahontas.
Let's look at the positive points of this movie. Everyone said that the special effects were amazing and I have to agree; they were pretty amazing. The epic battle near the end was probably my favourite scene. The acting done was some what good. There were some funny parts to the movie, which I didn't really expect. I liked how the Na'vi people could connect to the forest, animals and spirits. I liked the theme(s)/message(s) in the movie even if it's been done so many times. (i.e, racism, first nations vs. white, ect.) There were many parts to the movie that made it some what unique.
Now the negative things about it. The plot was very predictable. Not a crime though because most movies are pretty predictable. The story line is really nothing new. Guy goes to another planet, finds a new species, be friends them, girl falls in love with guy (and vise versa), bad guys come in, he tries to protect them, the people think that he's betraying him, earns back trust..ect ect ect. Like I said before, it reminded me a lot of Pocahontas.

Nevertheless, James Cameron has really out done himself; replacing his old movie, Titanic, with his new movie, Avatar, as #1 on the box office. I've gotta give props to James Cameron. Titanic, Terminator and now Avatar? You're making big bucks my friend. Big bucks. This guy is definitely a legend in the movie making business.
I actually recommend you go watch Avatar for yourself. Go check it out. ;)

what a pain in my arse.

homework, school, friends, stress. life is complicated, but that's just how life is.

I hate it when my mind tells me to do homework, but my body doesn't listen.

I have to study for a French vocabulary test this Friday. 120 french words to memorize. 55-ish memorized, 65 more french words to go.

I also have a science essay due on Friday about automation. I'm pretty much done the rough copy, but it sucks that I don't own a printer. Maybe I should type it at school and print it.

Gahh.. then there's that oral music test on Friday too. It's so hard to articulate on a trombone. For some reason I feel like I can't breathe when I play the piece that was assigned, "The British Grenadiers".

Plus there's the business proposal that I have to do tomorrow before or after piano.

I think I'm screwed on Friday. T__T

~One of life's most painful moments comes when we must admit that we didn't do our homework, that we are not prepared~

Drama Review: Chuno (Slave Hunters)

Chuno follows the story of Lee Dae Gil, a man of high birth whose family was ruined when Tae Ha, who became a slave after being falsely accused of a crime he did not commit, burns down his house and escapes. Driven by his desire for revenge, he survives his harsh years on the street and makes his name as a slave hunter, dedicated in his pursuit of Tae Ha. Both men become entangled in a love triangle with Un Nyun, a runaway slave who became a nobleman's daughter.

Okay, well I'm only on episode 8 right now and there are 24 episodes, which I am very happy about. The drama is GREAT so far. There's action, romance, suspense and way more. (I'm not talking about the scary kind of suspense though.) It has been getting a lot of amazing ratings, topping "Will It Snow For Christmas?" and "Hero".

It takes place way back in the Joseon Dynasty. Obviously it's a historical fiction drama, so there will be parts where the officers and high ranked authorities talk about issues and such. I find those parts really boring, but what do you except in a historical fiction drama?

The acting done is pretty amazing. The fighting is epic and badass. I mean, it's not like those kung fu movies where they fly on roofs and stuff. Except the slave hunters are like monkeys, jumping everywhere, even on roofs. They do a lot of sword battles and the swordsmanship is wonderful in this drama. There's more strategy done than strength. I actually learned a running technique from this drama.

The storyline of this drama is really good. There are many parts of the drama that make you curious of what will happen next. Some parts of the drama (usually the end) made me literally slap my hand over my mouth. I promise you that at the end of each episode your jaw will drop, the previews will excite you and you'll be talking about it to your friends all day, even if they don't know what you're talking about.

Also, you will see a lot of abs in this drama ladies...a lot ;) Tae Ha (played by Oh Ji Ho) is very hot for an oldie. And I gotta say, Lee Dae Gil (played by Hyuk Jang) is pretty hot too. Not to mention Lee Dae Gil's two slave hunter mates.
But don't worry guys, there's a little eye candy for you too. Un Nyun (played by Lee Da Hae) and Seol-hwa (played by Kim Ha Eun) are gorgeous. Too bad back in the days girls had to be super pure. Am I right guys? ;) eh eh? Oh, and don't forget badass assassin, Yunji (played by Yun Ji Min)

So if you could handle a little gore I recommend you check this out. Great action, great adventure.

im a noob

My friend introduced me to blogging not too long ago. Well, I already knew what blogging was, but she introduced it to me in a different way. o.o

Anyways, I thought it would cure my boredom and boost up my literature, so here I am. Honestly, it's not helping me at all. It's just making me procrastinate with my homework; it's like an excuse to myself to not do it. -sigh-

Well, if you were ever wondering why I named my blogspot "in my eyes" I shall tell you. If you weren't wondering then too bad I'm still telling you. It seems everyone blogs for a reason; they want to rant about their lives, about what they see in life or see of the world. I guess I'll be ranting about what I see in my world, in my perspective. I'll probably do a few reviews and/or just rant about random shit. Whether you want to read this blog or not is your choice.

So I guess I'll see how it goes and if all fails, then...I fail. ;D

~The only real failure in life is the failure to try~
